REVIEW: Himifashion Haul

29 June 2015

Hello, cupcakes!

Today I will be reviewing Himifashion (Storenvy), a super cute store focusing on Japanese fashion. Their new website recently opened, in addition to their Storenvy. You can order from either!

This time, I will be doing things slightly differently. Instead of ratings, I'll just be giving my commentary on the clothes. I realized after my first review that what I may call three or five stars may not be what someone else would call three or five stars, and I want to make sure to give as accurate reviews as I can. So, no ratings for future reviews - you can decide what you rate the clothes based on my commentary!

Below, I will be reviewing these items: Music Note Tee and College Blouse + Navy Skirt.

*While this review is sponsored, it is 1000% my true, honest opinion. All prices are in USD.

Shipping & Packaging

All items were chosen for me, as well as the shipping method and everything. I thought I would be receiving one item, but they sent me another as well as a surprise (sooo nice omg!).

So there were two different packages - both came much more quickly than I've experienced from other stores shipping from China to the USA! About a week. All items arrived secure and undamaged.

Cute stickers were included with both packages!

Item 1: Music Note Tee, 2 colors, $25.99

First up is this adorable pink shirt!

Fitting:

This shirt comes in one size. It fits me perfectly!

If it had been any shorter, it would've been too short for my taste - so if you are tall, proceed with caution (I'm 5'4" /163.8 cm).

I like how it's not too tight but not too loose! I also like where the sleeves fall, and the wider neck makes for a more stylish fit.

Quality:

I am very happy with the quality of this shirt! It's a nice, soft material. The ribbons are satin-y, but not flimsy. This feels like a good quality t-shirt!

The material is cotton, no loose threads or other issues were spotted.

Design:

Oh my, the design is SO cute. I just adore the little ribbons on the front...they take the shirt from just a t-shirt with print on it to something girly and different. I've never seen anyone with a shirt like this!

Because of that girly touch, I can wear this top as easily with a frilly skirt as I can with denim shorts. I LOVE this shade of pink as well.

The tee looks like the photo on the site:

I like the placement of the print (which is so cute) - sometimes t-shirt prints can be in weird unflattering places lol, but this one was in just the right place on me.

Overall:

I love this tee so much omg. No complaints, and oh so cute!

Item 2: College Blouse + Navy Skirt, 1 color, $34.99

Next we have this cute sailor-themed set:

As you can see I cannot for the life of me tie bows prettily lol...

Fitting:

This is an outfit set that comes in one size, red bow ribbon included (it's more like a scarf than a ribbon, but I'm not sure what to call it haha). Both the skirt and the top fit me pretty nicely!

I wore the skirt lower on my torso than the site photos so that it hugs my waist in a flattering way~ There is not much give to it though, I had a little trouble getting it over my hips...but once I wiggled into it, it fit well.

The top fits pretty well. I had trouble getting the collar to lie down over the ribbon, and the buttons on my bust were a little difficult (I'm about 33in/84 cm), but I like where the sleeves fall on my arms, and the shoulders aren't too poofy!

Quality:

I'm not very satisfied with the quality of this outfit set, sadly. The photo is a bit fuzzy (I didn't notice until after I had taken all the pictures, I'm sorry!), but for the top, you can see how the button line in the middle is crooked - it begins in the center of my neck and ends to the left of my belly button:

Also, the collar is crooked. The right side is higher and smaller than the left side. The back right seam is crooked as well, if you take a look at the photo of the outfit from the back above. Now, if crooked things like this don't bother you, then more power to you! But for me, I'm too OCD to wear this top ahhh.

The skirt's quality is better. It's not a fabric I would normally choose to wear, since it feels more on the costume-y side, but it's pretty thick and sturdy. I did notice a threaded spot on the front, either where a button or a hole used to be perhaps.

Design:

I wish the quality were better, because the design of this blouse is super cute! I just love the frilly, girly details of the lace:

This top also goes well with pleated or lace skirts:

Here is what the site photos look like in comparison:

The skirt's shape is very cute, I love how it highlights my waist and poofs out like it does. I do wish the color matched with the ribbon provided, though - the ribbon is red, while the skirt's stripes are more of an orange, rust color. I do like the length of the waist section!

Overall:

The concept for this outfit was very cute, but the quality was not quite there for me.

Order from this store again?

I absolutely loved the Music Note Tee - the quality was excellent! I can't say the same for the College Blouse + Navy Skirt...it's like they came from two different stores! Since my first item was lovely, and I see other reviewers having positive experiences with them, I'd say I would still be willing to give them a shot, though.

They have a very cute selection of clothes, and I love that many of the items come with free shipping, so I hope to try them again sometime. If you would like to try buying from them, you can use my discount code "princess" at checkout for 5% off!

Thank you so much for sponsoring me, Himifashion! ^^ And thank you lovelies for reading, I hope you each have a wonderful week! c:
